Natural Stone Crack & Chip Repair Services
Natural stone crack repair in Chicago is a precision job: the goal is a repair you have to search for. Stone chip repair in Chicago uses knife-grade epoxy or polyester resin tinted to match the stone's base color and veining, packed into the void, shaved flush and polished so light reflects evenly across the repair. Marble crack repair in Chicago starts with stabilizing the crack, cleaning it out and injecting a low-viscosity resin before the surface is refinished. Granite chip repair around sink cutouts, edges and seams is the most common request in kitchens. We repair marble, granite, quartzite, limestone, travertine, slate and terrazzo in place.
Cracks, Chips & Broken Edges? Here's What We Fix
Chipped countertop edges from a dropped pan, a corner knocked off a vanity, hairline cracks running from a sink cutout, split fireplace hearths, broken stair nosings, pitted travertine and separated seams are all candidates for seamless repair. We assess whether the crack is cosmetic or structural, whether the piece is stable and whether the surrounding finish needs re-polishing so the repair blends. Most repairs are completed in one visit and the surface can be used the same day. If a slab is beyond repair we tell you honestly, but in the majority of cases natural stone crack repair in Chicago saves the countertop or floor.
Common questions about cracks & chips
Can a chipped marble or granite edge be repaired invisibly?
In most cases, yes. We fill the chip with a colour-matched resin, shape it to the original profile and polish it to match the surrounding sheen. Repairs on busy-patterned stone are nearly undetectable.
Is a crack in my stone countertop or floor structural?
Most cracks are surface or fissure cracks and can be stabilised and filled. We inspect for movement, subfloor or cabinet issues first. If the cause is structural we tell you, because a fill alone would not hold.
Will a repaired crack or chip be strong enough for daily use?
Yes. We use professional-grade epoxies and polyesters designed for stone that cure harder than the stone itself. After polishing and sealing, the repaired area can be used exactly like the rest of the surface.
Will a repaired chip be visible?
Our fills are color-matched to the stone and polished flush, so most repairs are very hard to find once complete. Light-colored, heavily veined stone hides repairs best; solid dark stone may show a faint outline up close.
Can a cracked countertop be repaired or does it need replacing?
Most cracks can be stabilized and filled in place, especially hairline and stress cracks near sinks and cooktops. Replacement is only needed when the slab is broken through and unsupported. We advise honestly after seeing photos.
How long does a chip or crack repair last?
A properly cured, polished repair is permanent under normal use. We use professional-grade resins and epoxies designed for stone, and every repair is covered by our Hero Promise.
