Quartzite Restoration questions

Do you offer quartzite cleaning and sealing?

Yes. Our quartzite cleaning and sealing service starts with a pH-neutral deep clean of the stone and grout to lift embedded soil, residue and old sealer. Once the quartzite is clean and dry, we apply a penetrating sealer to help slow down staining. Floors, showers, vanities and countertops can be done. Text photos for a quote.

Can you remove a dark stain that keeps growing near my cooktop?

Often, yes. A dark area that spreads near a cooktop is usually cooking oil absorbed into the stone. We test the spot and, when it is oil, draw it out with a poultice before resealing. Send a photo of the area and we'll tell you what we see before we quote.

Is quartzite harder to restore than granite?

Yes—quartzite is even harder than granite, rating 7-8 on the Mohs scale. That's why most companies avoid it. We have specialized diamond equipment built for ultra-hard stones.

Why does my quartzite have dull spots?

Despite its hardness, quartzite can etch from acidic substances. The factory polish can also wear over time with use. Our diamond polishing process restores the original brilliance.

How often should quartzite be sealed?

Every 1-2 years depending on usage. Some quartzite varieties are denser than others. We'll test absorption during our assessment and give honest recommendations.

Can you fix chips in quartzite countertops?

Absolutely. We use color-matched epoxy that cures extremely hard. Most repairs are virtually invisible when complete.
