Countertop Sealing in Evanston, IL
Natural stone is porous. A good impregnating sealer slows down how fast oil, wine, coffee and water soak in, so you have time to wipe spills before they stain. We deep clean the countertop, let it dry, and apply a penetrating sealer chosen for your stone.
How do I know if my stone countertop needs sealing?
Put a few drops of water on the countertop and wait a few minutes. If the stone darkens, the water is soaking in and the countertop needs sealing. If it beads up, the sealer is still working. Sealing helps prevent stains but does not stop etching on marble. Send us photos for a quote.
Signs your countertop needs sealing

Does sealing stop etching on marble?
No. Sealer helps against stains, but acids still react with marble. Etch marks are removed by honing and polishing.
Do quartz countertops need sealing?
Engineered quartz is non-porous and generally does not need sealing. Natural stone does.
How much does countertop sealing cost?
It depends on the size of the countertop. Send us photos and we will reply with a quote.
